What is Wireless Charging?
- Wireless charging has been around since inventor and physicist Nikola Tesla first discovered that you could transfer power between two objects via an electromagnetic field.
- Wireless charging is based on the principle of magnetic resonance, or Inductive Power Transfer (IPT). This is the process of transferring an electrical current between two supplementing coiled wires which creates an electromagnetic field.
- By simply placing two devices that are coupled with these coils, they are able to transfer energy to one another, such as a phone and a charging pad.
